Denius family Civil War correspondence, 1862-1863.

Nine Civil War letters of Adam, John, David and S.F. Denius to their friend, David G. Parry ask for news of home and report troop activities, particularly at Champions Hill, and the deaths of David, John and other soldiers. The letters reveal John's efforts to manage the home while in the army and to send David's body home, but Solomon indicates that John was buried at Lake Providence because sending him home "was out of the question."
